Recently a major geo-political development has taken place. India has been declared the third most powerful (stronger country) country. The third most powerful country means India has been placed above Russia and Japan and you will see that dozens of articles have been published on this.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! Many ministers of the Government of India have also tweeted on this and commented that India is emerging in Asia surpassing one of the superpowers, Russia and Japan. And here you can see that Hardeep Singh Puri has given credit to PM Modi and many other ministers are saying that India geo-politically and overall as a country has now become so strong that it has now become the third most powerful country.
This ranking, which is being discussed a lot these days, has been released by the Lowy Institute. It is an Australia-based mega think tank. Their reports are very credible and are highly respected in the world of geo-politics. And first of all, I will show you what index they have published recently and what is the rank of which country there. Now, this is in front of you – the Asia Power Index of the Lowy- Institute. According to them, the main power center in the world is the Indo-Pacific region.
Here you can say that from almost Israel to the US, this entire region, whichever country dominates here, will dominate the world, whether it is trade or resources, you will see that country on top everywhere.
Lowy Institute says that first of all one thing should be clear that which countries are super powers and which countries are middle powers?
Lowy Institute says that at present there are only two super powers, one is USA and the other is China.
The score of 81.6 they have given to USA is not just on the basis of its military power, USA has got this score on its economic ability, military capability, resilience, that if they are attacked tomorrow, how resilient is USA, what are their future resources, what are their future planning, economic relationships, how many trade pacts they have with which countries, how is their overall trade flourishing, defense networks, diplomatic influence and then cultural influence, they keep all these things in mind and then prepare their score, so according to them, US is the top super power in the Indo-Pacific region and after USA, they have placed China.
China got 2nd stronger country in the world !!
After China, usually these people used to put either Russia or Japan. If you look at last year’s index, you will find Japan at the fourth spot and at that time itself I remember many people had commented that this index is wrong, a country like Japan does not even have its own nuclear weapons, how can these people say that Japan is the third most powerful country, whereas India was going to get two aircraft carriers at that time, now they have come today, so after the criticism of 2023, now we are seeing that the Lowy Institute has made the correction, now India’s rank has improved, India has come to rank four.
Russia one place down, this is the most shocking thing, in its index it is declaring a country weaker than Australia, the region is very big for this, Russia has become isolated, Russia’s economic relations have deteriorated, Russia’s diplomatic influence has weakened, Russia is today under a lot of debt and there is no clarity on what future resources it will have and how this country will operate.
Whereas Australia is working on nuclear submarines, under AUCUS very soon Australia is going to get a nuclear submarine and through Quad, Australia has improved its diplomatic standing a lot in this region, so according to these people Australia
Here, do not think that there will be a war between Australia and Russia. First of all, the chances of war are very less because geographically both the countries are very far apart.
But here we are not only talking about who will win if there is a war. Again, according to all these parameters, these eight parameters which are in front of you where we count both resources and influence, these people are saying that today Australia is more powerful than Russia.
And then you should note one thing that India’s neighbouring country Pakistan’s rank has fallen by one more rank as compared to last year. Look, here this report is dividing the countries in three categories, which according to me is wrong. They should make more categories.
These people are saying that either the countries are super powers like US, China, then there are middle powers, neither are they super powers nor minor powers, for now this is their stance in between. Whereas according to me, below super powers, there should be a category of potential super powers, where India should definitely be there. India, Australia belong.
In that group, because again look, in this group of middle powers, they are putting India as well and in the same group, they are putting Pakistan as well, which you will see here on the Solve spot and North Korea is also being put in this spot and Weaving is also being put on this spot.
Minor power countries such as Bangladesh, yes Bangladesh has been called a minor power country here. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal, etc. all come in the last category.
So this again, this is the data of the Loi Institute’s report. And if we see in the case of India, the maximum progress, the maximum push has been given to India’s score. In the case of future resources, these people are saying that the way India has ensured a lot of resources through the Quad that India has, for example, recently we saw that the US Space Force has announced that it will help in setting up this national security semiconductor factory in India. Obviously, this gives a lot of strength to our future resources. India has emerged as a more resilient country.
Recently, no matter what happens, be it a natural disaster or a war, India will stand with stability to a large extent. India’s diplomatic influence has also improved. Our economic capability has also improved to a great extent. There has been a little damage in one area and that is the defense networks.
Look here, in order to improve, we will have to talk to other countries about military types. It is possible that if we acquire more military bases, India’s defence network may improve. But overall, this report clearly tells us that India is on the rise. I will have to say one thing here that as per their data, it will take several decades for India to become a super power from a middle power. Because there is a difference in the scores, China’s score is 70 plus. Because this report believes that if the overall score of a country is 70 plus in these eight categories, only then will that country be considered a super power.
According to them, India’s score right now is 39, so it will take several decades for India to become a super power. That is why I said that India’s status is obviously neither that of a middle power nor that of a minor power. We are above that we are not a super power.
So definitely India is a very big potential super power and you will see it in the future. Even the Lowy Institute has said this.
One after the other, many reports, many India sources will start admitting that Russia is no longer at the third and second spot, especially after Ukraine captured a large area of their Kurk region and Russia has not been able to do anything about it till now.
Russia’s overall global dominance has reduced to a great extent and that vacuum is now being filled by India. India is the new number three.
Now here I would like to ask you people a question, do you genuinely believe that today India has become the third biggest superpower or do you believe that not now but Russia can make a comeback, it would be too early to keep India at the third spot, I would like to know your opinion about this in the comment section.
