Hello Top News World, Now recently the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi went to Kuwait, which is a historic visit in itself and it is being called historic because the last time when an Indian Prime Minister visited this important Gulf country, the year was 1981 and at that time Indira Gandhi ji had visited. 43 years later, Modi ji’s visit is a historic visit.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! This visit is very important from every aspect, from defence security and even if we talk about mutual respect, and this is the way PM Modi was welcomed in Kuwait and if you see Kuwait on the map, you will think that it is such a small country, with a population of only around 45 lakhs, in West Asia.
Why is Kuwait important for India?
We are a country that does not forget the countries that help us. You will remember that when the time of Covid-19 pandemic was going on, there was a wave of Covid in India and at that time there was a shortage of liquid oxygen in India. We needed liquid oxygen containers at that time. France helped us, many other countries also helped but we should not forget Kuwait in all that.
Kuwait first sent 215 metric tonnes of oxygen to India and after that it said that we are ready to supply a total of 1400 metric tonnes to India and then India’s naval ships went to Kuwait, we took a lot of oxygen from here. Liquid medical oxygen came to India, it was used in our hospitals and many lives were saved at that time. This is a matter of 2021.
Today, we are about to enter the year 2025. It has been 4 years but this was a very special gesture of Kuwait, we should not forget it. And if you see Kuwait as a country, it is definitely an Islamic country. Here, the majority of the population follows the Islamic faith. Perhaps, in the Kuwait region, apart from the UAE, you can say that you will find the most open-minded country because here these people produce their shows a lot. Kuwait’s shows are very famous in the Arab world.
Mahabharata and Ramayana Translated(Arabic) in Kuwait!
Recently, when Modi ji went to Kuwait, he also had a meeting with two authors who had recently translated Ramayana and Mahabharata into Arabic.
Now, you can raise a question here but just a few months back, news had come out that nine Indian workers were working in Kuwait. By the way, lakhs of Indian workers are working in Kuwait today. Indian workers make up 30% of the total workforce of Kuwait and the rest are Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and from various other countries.
Workers work here and the total population of Kuwait is 21%, you will find Indians, so there are lakhs of Indians and when the Ram temple was inaugurated in India, at that time there were some Indian workers, nine Indian workers distributed sweets in their labor camp, due to this their boss got very angry that why are they distributing sweets, due to this nine Indian workers were fired from their job and at that time it became a big news, many people also objected to it that why was this done, but it was a matter between this worker and his manager here.
But if I talk about the government of Kuwait, then it is a little more open-minded than other countries in the region, but again I would say that Kuwait is a little more open-minded, as recently news came that democracy has come here, but nothing like that has happened, this country is still an autocracy, but it is a very important country for India, it is a small country, yet the trade between India and Kuwait is around 11 to 12 billion dollars and there is a possibility that the trade between the two countries may increase even more in the future.
Kuwait wants to upgrade itself. Kuwait wants these people to build a new Kuwait. Their government has recently said that they want to expand their infrastructure a lot. So PM Modi has said here to Kuwait that India has skill, technology, manpower and they can help you to build a new Kuwait.
You must have heard about this that India has received record breaking remittances. Remittances are the money that Indian workers earn outside India and then send back to their families in India and PM Modi has also told this to the Indian workers in Kuwait. If we talk about numbers, then this year India will receive 129 billion dollars in remittances. If you are thinking that people continuously earn money in India and bring it back to India, for once you can say that it is very sad that there are so many sources of employment in our country, don’t Chinese workers do all this?
But again, it is what it is, the situation is this right now. Indian workers are going to the Gulf, the US, Europe, and all over the world to work, and this amount is not a big deal. In the future it can also be $200 billion because in terms of remittances, you will not find any country that can compete with India. India is on the top, Mexico is at the second place, and you will find China on the third spot with $48 billion, whereas if you look at the population of both the countries, they are almost the same.
You people might also say here that what about oil, tell me about oil, we obviously must be purchasing oil from Kuwait, well not really, I mean we do not purchase that much oil from Kuwait, only 3 but our energy needs come from Kuwait, which we can change very easily at any time, we have purchased extra oil from Russia, Nigeria is an option, there are a lot of options, so there is not such a special trade of oil between India and Kuwait, which I mean it is sustainable to a large extent.
I won’t dwell so much on this but if you look at other matters like remittances, our workforce working there, cultural exchange, change etc., then Kuwait is very important and we should not forget that it needed help the most. At that time, Kuwait tried to help our people and did help them.
