India has given a very, I would say, proper reply to the speech of the Pakistani Prime Minister. The speech was literally crazy. These people had forgotten their own country. Kashmir was being mentioned continuously. India was being mentioned. Basically, he targeted India in his entire speech.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! When India’s turn came at the United Nations, and by the way PM Modi is not representing India right now, Dr. Ajay Shankar gave a speech on India’s behalf at the United Nations, when his turn came, then the dialogue that he delivered, I think even Pakistan would not have expected that India’s foreign minister would say this directly, he said it openly that first of all we are talking about a country like Pakistan whose GDP is measured on the basis of radicalization, that is, how many people have become radical there and how many terrorists are these people producing every year.
When Jaishankar Sahib reached the 79th United Nations General Assembly to give a speech, he had decided that he would do a lot of things today but he would not hesitate.
And he did not hesitate at all, very openly, a lot of people already know the truth about Pakistan, official people in the UN do not speak about it, India spoke officially about it.
Jaishankar Did not Hesitate countering Pakistan at the UN
First of all, it was said that what is happening with Pakistan is their karma, today these people are suffering from it, their GDP runs on radicalization and terrorism and it is very important to expose such a country, such a dysfunctional country which has occupied the land of others. I don’t think India has used more direct to the point language than this about Pakistan at the United Nations, this is quite unpredictable. S.Jaishankar further said that when Shahbaz Sharif came to give his speech, he used to say many times that according to the UN resolution, the solution to Kashmir should be found, the plebiscite should be done, so he openly said that today only one thing is left to be done, regarding the issue of POK, Pakistan should vacate that area regarding the issue of occupied Kashmir. Pakistani social media is more interesting than Shahbaz Sharif’s speech.
This reply of S. Jaishankar has become a bit popular. If you see the speech of S.Jaishankar , he has covered a lot of things. First of all, he said that the world is going through a difficult phase. The pandemic has just ended.
After that we see that the Ukraine Russia war has entered its third year and there is a conflict in Gaza. Its wider remit is England. India has not criticised Israel over the Gaza war.
You will not see any statement against Israel in the Indian speech, while many European countries and other countries were criticizing Israel saying that what is being done in Gaza is wrong.
Then S. Jaishankar further said that the world’s trust in the United Nations is slowly weakening. We need reforms in the UN and obviously when we are talking about reforms, it is very important to have an important country like India in it, otherwise we will not be able to solve the problems of the world. And how does it matter when you put such things before the UN?
The words chosen by S. Jaishankar are very interesting. He said that see, the global order is very pluralistic. When the United Nations was started, there were 51 members in the UN.
The reality is that if you read the history, when the UN initially started, it had only 51 members. Gradually, many countries gained confidence in the UN and then by the end of the year, the UN had 193 members. The world has changed profoundly and so have the concerns and opportunities. Now, from then till now, the world has changed a lot. If we look from World War 2 till now, the whole world has changed. It is very important that the fundamental system of the UN, which we talk about the UN Security Council, remains of the old era. Large parts of the world cannot be left behind when it comes to deciding the key issues of our times.
Now, this statement is very important because you have to note one thing that when other world leaders talk about reforms in the UN Security Council and bringing India in, almost every leader says that India should be brought in, along with Germany, Japan, or Russia.
There are very few countries which openly say that only India as a country deserves to be a member at the UN Security Council. Usually people say that as a group, all these countries should be brought in.
If the number of permanent members in the UN Security Council is currently five, then we can make it around 7-10, and see, this is a very big challenge for India because proper consensus is not being formed on the issue as to which countries should be added to the UN Security Council along with India.
UK and France want to add Germany. Russia says what is the need for Germany. Because of this, the expansion of UN Security Council gets stopped. India does not get the seat that it should get. So India did not directly name any country. It did not even mention the G4 group that has been formed today. India did not say that Germany and Japan also need seats in the UN Security Council.
India said that you cannot leave large parts of the world behind in the decision-making process. If you do this, then the UN will not be able to properly play its role as an efficient and effective body.
So overall I would say that it was a very good speech, although he did not mention what is happening with the minorities in Bangladesh. There was no mention of Bangladesh in his speech.
It seemed a little different in the speech, but overall you can say that it was a very impactful speech by the Foreign Minister of India at the UN.
